St. Patrick's Day History

Hey Everyone

As you know St. Patrick's Day is just Around the Corner. So If you don't mind I would like to share with you some information about him. St. Patrick was born in Roman Britain. They don't know the exact day but they know that it was in the 4th century. He was born to wealthy parents. His father and grandfather were the deacons in the church. When St. Patrick was 16 he was kidnapped by Irish Raiders. He was took to Ireland to be a slave. He was told by God in a dream to flee from captivity to the coast. So he walked nearly 200 miles from a place called Mayo to the Irish coast. There he would board a ship and return back to Britain. When he returned he quickly joined the church in Auxerre and studied to be a priest. In 432 he was called back to Ireland to be a Bishop. The Irish say that he used a shamrock to explain to them the trinity. After 30 years of being an evangelist he died on Mar 17, 461. He was buried at Downpatrick. But anyways I just wanted to share with you a little about St. Patrick. I do have a St. Patrick's Day word search for you to try. I hope you like it. Have fun and enjoy.
